Rating: 5 out of 5.

Excellent car boot sale in Bowlee, a great location to organize your belongings and find some great deals.

Open every Sunday and on some holidays, with sellers being able to start taking orders at 6 a.m. and buyers starting about 6:30 a.m. To find out exact dates and times, visit the Rochdale Council website. If it’s crowded and there aren’t enough spaces on the main section, they may put you on grass for an additional $15 for a stall as a buyer for a car on hard standing tarmac.

Parking as a buyer costs £2.50.

As you wait to board, the roads may become congested, but you’ll soon be moving, so it’s best to arrive as early as possible. Buyers line up a little bit higher up near Middleton/David Lloyd Leisure while sellers enter through the first entrance on the left from the Rochdale/Heywood side.

There isn’t much variety elsewhere, although the food and drink vendors are a tad on the pricier side for what you receive. Toilets are also accessible.

This is one of my favorites as a buyer…

Although it costs more to enter than most carboots (£2.50), this is one of my favorites as a buyer, and I overheard several sellers express their displeasure with the management. There are always many sellers here, and I’ve made a lot of wonderful purchases.

2. Rummage In The Range

ADDRESSRowan Lodge, 113 Carlton Rd, Greater, Whalley Range, Manchester M16 8BE, United Kingdom
EMAIL[email protected]

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Rummage is a great monthly car boot and community event in the heart of Whalley Range. It is a customary setting filled of trinkets and vintage treasures available for rehoming. The celebration started during lockdown the previous year as a method to encourage eco-friendly shopping and unite the neighborhood for a traditional mooch!

There is frequently street food available, as well as workshops. The atmosphere is vibrant and active. It isn’t your average gloomy-eyed “boot sale,” packed with specialized collectors on a sleepy day with the aroma of cheap bacon sandwiches and filter coffee breath in the air.

It was such a natural coming together of the whole community. The Manchester car boot sale drew everyone, from antique enthusiasts to those simply looking to save a few pounds, eco-conscious shoppers to those who just wanted a drink and some live music. It catered to all tastes.

All great folks who are open to trading…

Although it was rather modest, I spent over two hours there.
All great folks who are open to trading, especially if you purchase multiple items from them.
Spending £20 netted me some great deals on oddities, a dress, a hat, and a glass vase, to name a few.
I like that there is a free plastic recycling station at the back, and that entry is free if you bring plastic to recycle. They even consume plastic packaging for pills or tablets.

New Smithfield Market hosts a fantastic car boot full of new and used goods practically every Sunday of the year. It is the largest wholesale market in the North West of England, located just 2.5 miles from Manchester’s city center on a 35-acre property.

They offer direct access to customers at a local and regional level while serving as an excellent basis for distribution nationally and to mainland Europe. It is conveniently located near the M56, M60, M62, and Manchester Airport.

You may discover apparel, art supplies, old furniture, and everything in between here, as well as a cozy cafe, which is housed in a sizeable covered and outdoor space.

What we like the best is that there is no fee for visitor parking from Monday through Saturday. Although, only short-term parking is offered; there is no overnight or long-term parking.

It’s a very large and bustling market…

Parking is free and open in the neighbouring streets during the Sunday market. I usually arrive there around 10 am. It’s a very large and bustling market on a sunny Sunday with plenty of good and terrible bargains (do expect goods that should be delivered right to the neighbourhood recycling centre). 2pm is the closing time.
